Autumn 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Accent Piece (Street Regal)

From left to right: Brooklyn (Awaken, Spring 2014), Daisy (Delight, Spring 2015), Sunny (Vivid, April 2014), Melodious Utopia (Hope & Freedom Fest, Spring 2013), Solar Power (Ecollection, Spring 2008), Aim to Misbehave (Shimmer Brights, Summer 2016), Sun’s Up Top Down (Road Trip, Spring 2015), Rollin’ in Cashmere (Gwen Stefani Holiday, Holiday 2014), Star Studded (Gala Bolds, Summer 2017), Accent Piece, Far Out (Retro Diva, Autumn 2009), Saaya (Fresh Twist, May 2014)

Accent Piece is the lighter cousin of the oldie but goodie Far Out, and the fall version of Saaya. It also makes me think of a darker version of Solar Power too.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Red Blooded Woman and Red Red Wine (Lady in Red) and Lady is a Tramp

From left to right: Red Blooded Woman, Lady is a Tramp (Core), Red Red Wine
Lady is a Tramp is a bit lighter than either of these two, but it’s darker enough than the two light reds in this set that it wasn’t worth comparing them.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Truth is Gold (Street Regal)

From left to right: Press * For Silver (Starlight, Holiday 2015), Getting Groovy (Getting Groovy, Holiday 2016), High Standards (Summer Reign, Summer 2017), Passion (Romantiques, Spring 2009), Best Ponies Forever (My Little Pony, Summer 2017), 50 Years of Style (Mustang, Summer 2014), Truth is Gold, Jingle Bells (Tis the Season to be Naughty or Nice, Holiday 2010), Austine (Utopia, Holiday 2007)

Third gold in a row from CG! This one’s the most rich and bronzeish of the three but you don’t need all three, my vote would be for Best Ponies Forever. Truth is Gold’s real closest cousin is a much older China Glaze, Jingle Bells, although Jingle Bells has a thinner formula.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Haute & Heavy (Street Regal)

From left to right: Rachael (Kisses London, September 2015), Public Relations (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), Freja (Downtown, Autumn 2007), Kiss My Glass (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), Awaken (Romantique, Spring 2009), Haute & Heavy, After Hours (Dance to the Musique, Autumn 2008), Black Diamond (Ski, Holiday 2007), No More Mr. Night Sky (Starlight, Holiday 2015)

Haute & Heavy has a lot of company here, Rachael’s greener and lighter, Public Relations and Freja are more purple, and No More Mr. Night Sky has a different finish (flecky), but everything else is really close.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Rock N Royale (Street Regal)

From left to right: China Rouge (X Anniversary, Autumn 2007), Party on a Platform (Getting Groovy, Holiday 2016), Rosemary (Spring to It, March 2017), Rock n Royale, We the Female (Washington DC, Autumn 2016), Rekha (Designer, Autumn 2012), Demi (December 2011), Courtney (Urban Grunge, Autumn 2016), Sasha (Classics), Can’t Read without My Lipstick (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Holiday 2016), Cassandra (Kisses, London, September 2015), Jean (Dark and Stormy Nights, October 2016), Dakota (Vibe, Autumn 2008)

Rock n Royale is a really unique red, I have nothing quite like it. It’s very bricky, unlike everything to the right. We the Female is the closest but it’s cooler. If you mixed a bit of Rosemary in We the Female you’d have Rock n Royale.

Oops! Forgot With the Band. It’s in the same boat but lighter and a little cooler.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Dawn of a New Reign

From left to right: Lidia (Focus, Autumn 2015), Monica (Designer, Autumn 2012), A Grape Affair (Coca Cola, Summer 2014), Purple Haze (Star Power, Autumn 2017), Grape Pop (Up & Away, Spring 2010), Mix and Mingle (Cheers! Holiday 2015), Sylvia (Garden Party, August 2013), Dawn of a New Reign, Plum Sugar (Sugar High, Spring 2015), Fashionably Late (I’ve Gotta Be Me, Holiday 2014), Crown Velvet (Her Majesty, Holiday 2016)

I didn’t think I had this many dark purples! Plum Sugar is almost dead-on to Dawn of a New Reign and Grape Pop, Mix and Mingle, and Sylvia are close but lighter.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Born to Rule (Street Regal)

I no longer have my bottle of CG Man Hunt, but that would be another great comparison.

From left to right: Rich Girls & Po-Boys (New Orleans, Spring 2016), Fearlessly Alice (Alice Through the Looking Glass, Summer 2016), Make Some Noise (Neons, Summer 2015), Video Killed the Radio Star (‘80’s Rewind, Summer 2014), Super-trop-i-cal-i-fiji-istic (Fiji, Spring 2017), Blagger (Spring 2011), Sia (Focus, Autumn 2015), Born to Rule, Indie (In the Mix, Autumn 2015)

As I mentioned in my swatches, I don’t really like this color, so the only thing I have that’s reasonably close is Sia, which is lighter and warmer.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Just a Little Embellishment (Street Regal)

Other Mattes:

From left to right: Sage (Naturel Satins, Spring 2015), Constance (NYFW 2015 Satin Trio, Autumn 2015), Veruschka (Matte Velvet, Winter 2009), Honor (Matte Velvet 2015, Holiday 2015), Just a Little Embellishment, Sonia (Switch Up, November 2015), Combat Blue-ts (Rebel, Autumn 2016)

Now, the only other polishes here that aren’t metallic mattes are Sage and the VHTF Constance, so I have nothing here that’s exactly like Embellishment. Sonia’s the closest colorwise but it’s metallic, it’s right there on the sticker.

Non-mattes:

From left to right: Poolside Service (Lounge Lover, Spring 2016), Custom Kicks (Kicks, Summer 2009), Is that a Spear in Your Pocket? (Fiji, Spring 2017), Just a Little Embellishment, Jagged Little Teal (Rebel, Autumn 2016)

Just a Little Embellishment is closest to this spring’s Spear in Your Pocket, if it wasn’t a matte.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Street Style Princess (Street Regal)

From left to right: I Cannoli Wear OPI (Venice, Autumn 2015), Megan (Feel, Winter 2011), Linda (New York Never Sleeps, October 2015), Carey (Feel, Winter 2011), Street Style Princess, King of the Road (Her Majesty, Holiday 2016), Petal Pushers (Flowerista, Spring 2015), Zoey (New York Never Sleeps, October 2015). Swatch Stick: China Glaze Change Your Altitude (The Great Outdoors, Autumn 2015)

Street Style Princess is a little lighter and less brown toned than Change Your Altitude, the closest thing I have in CG’s lineup to it. Carey, however, is close enough, you don’t need them both. Same goes with Linda.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Throne-In' Shade (Street Regal)

From left to right: Tatum (Naturel 3, Spring 2017), You’re So Vain-illa (Coca Cola, Summer 2014), Tiramisu for Two (Venice, Autumn 2015), Prelude to a Kiss (Cool Romance, Spring 2012), Shay (Touch, Winter 2011), Chantal & Taylor (Naturel, Spring 2014), Throne-in’ Shade, Phyllis (Chrysalis, January 2015), Cathy (Naturel 3, Spring 2017), Emperor’s New Clothes (Her Majesty, Holiday 2016). Swatch Stick: China Glaze What’s She Dune (Desert Escape, Summer 2015)

Now this color isn’t really my jam so I don’t have much like Throne-in Shade. Taylor and What’s She Dune are the closest things in my repertoire to Throne-in Shade but you probably already have something else like it.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Orly Velvet Kaleidoscope (Velvet Dream)

From left to right: Louisa May (Citrine for November, November 2015), Pisces (Zodiac, March 2016), Evangeline (Magique, Autumn 2006), Gloria (Flame, Holiday 2010), Virginia (All Night Long, December 2015), Velvet Kaleidoscope, Space Cadet (Cosmic FX, Autumn 2010), Phoenix Rising (Rock this Town, Holiday 2012), Anastasia & Ivy (Magique, Autumn 2006), Tatiana (Cityscape, September 2013), What’s the Password (Secret Society, Holiday 2013), Ya Got Trouble (I’ve Gotta Be Me, Holiday 2014)

Velvet Kaleidoscope is like a less blingy version of Space Cadet, a pinker version of Phoenix Rising, and a less green version of Virginia.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Orly Silken Quartz (Velvet Dream)

From left to right: Monique (Lighten Up, March 2016), Take a Right on Bourbon (New Orleans, Spring 2016), Magical (Romantiques, Spring 2009), Lullaby of Broadway (New York Marquee, Autumn 2014), Kay (Modern Smolder, February 2016), Silken Quartz, Lauren (Classics), Wilma (Rainbow Bright, May 2016), Press * For Silver (Starlight, Holiday 2015), Voyeuristic Adventure (Secret Society, Holiday 2013), Front Page (Infamous, Holiday 2015), Cosmo-Not Tonight Honey! (Russia, Autumn 2007), Seashell (Core)

Silken Quartz is a lot like Zoya’s old Lauren, but Silken Quartz has a much thicker formula. Wilma is a little darker.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Orly November Fog (Velvet Dream)

From left to right: As Seen on TV (La La Land, Spring 2017), Baguette Me Not (S’il Vous Play, Summer 2017), I’m Gown for Anything! (Alice Through the Looking Glass, Summer 2016), Heather (Bouquet, Spring 2006), Megan (Feel, Winter 2011), Abby (Charming, Spring 2017), November Fog, All Day Sucker (Sweets for My Sweet, Spring 2016), Alexa (Drenched, July 2015), Virgin Snow (Virgin Snow, Holiday 2015), Caitlin (Intimate, Spring 2011)

November Fog is actually rather close to Abby, closer than I was expecting it to be. All Day Sucker is also super duper close.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Orly Just Bitten (Velvet Dream)

From left to right: Asia (Vibe, Autumn 2008), Big Apple Red (New York, Autumn 2000), Red Satin (Holiday Joy, Holiday 2012), China Rouge (X Anniversary, Autumn 2007), Man of the Moment, Party on a Platform (Getting Groovy, Holiday 2016), Rekha (Designer, Autumn 2012), Just Bitten, Demi (December 2011), Jean (Dark and Stormy Nights, October 2016), Ravishing Dahling (Visions of Grandeur, Autumn 2005)

I actually don’t have anything exactly like Just Bitten because of its slightly jellyish finish. Demi is closest in color but it’s more opaque. Rekha is lighter.

Oops! Forgot Courtney (Urban Grunge, Autumn 2016). It’s close but darker.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Orly Blue Suede (Velvet Dream)

From left to right: Too Busy Being Awesome (My Little Pony, Summer 2017), Super-trop-i-cal-i-fiji-istic (Fiji, Spring 2017), Blagger (Spring 2011), Blue Suede, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes (After Midnight, Autumn 2016), Natty (Designer, Autumn 2012), Blue Blood (Her Majesty, Holiday 2016), Strangers in the Night (Dressed to the Nines, Holiday 2015), Arielle (New York Never Sleeps, October 2015), Octavia (Dramatic, February 2014), I Know What Boys Like (Summer 2011), Sia (Focus, Autumn 2015), Born to Rule (Street Chic, Autumn 2017)

That jolt of brightness in Blue Suede makes it incredibly unique. The closest I have is Blagger; Blue Suede is like a mix of Blagger and Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Orly Black Cherry (Velvet Dream)

From left to right: Audrina (Gossip, Summer 2008), Paige (Uptown, Autumn 2007), Black Cherry, Hayley (Modern Smolder, February 2016), Margo (Entice, Autumn 2014), Toni (Designer, Autumn 2012), Beverly (Poolside, July 2014), Tara (Urban Grunge, Autumn 2016), Stacy (Wonderful, Autumn 2010), Cassandra (Kisses, London, September 2015), Monica (Designer, Autumn 2012), Charmed I’m Sure (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), Joanne (Friendsgiving, November 2014)

I have nothing at all like Black Cherry (although admittedly I’ve skipped similar shades from previous collections in the past. Margo is closest but it’s darker. Paige is lighter and dustier.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - OPI Turn on the Northern Lights (Iceland)

From left to right: Give Me Space (Starlight, Holiday 2015), Scandalous Shenanigans (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), Russian Navy (Russia, Autumn 2007), High on Hope (Hope and Freedom Fest, Spring 2013), Turn on the Northern Lights, Sleeping Under the Stars (The Great Outdoors, Autumn 2015), Ginny (This Way to the Soiree, December 2016), Danica (Paradise, April 2015), Virgo (Zodiac, September 2016), Paulina (New York Never Sleeps, October 2015), Up All Night (Patent Leather in the City, Spring 2006), Sanaa (Sapphire for September, September 2015)

Turn on the Northern Lights is like Sleeping Under the Stars with a much more visible shimmer, but purely from this base picture they’re dead on. High on Hope is similar but the shimmer less fine.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - OPI Reykjavic has All the Hot Spots (Iceland)

Aw, I wish I hadn’t gotten rid of Ever Glaze Optimal Opal! If I buy another bottle I’ll add in the comp.

From left to right: Chrome is Where the Heart Is (House of Colour, Spring 2016), Lullaby of Broadway (New York Marquee, Autumn 2014), Silken Quartz (Velvet Dream, Autumn 2017), Chantilly Peach (Core), Amber (Classics), Faith (Spring to It, March 2017), Fawne (Re-Cher-Che, Spring 2006), Reykjavik has All the Hot Spots, Mauving to Manitoba (Canada, Autumn 2004), It’s Genius (Winter 2008), Hey Doll (Vintage Vixen, Autumn 2010), Lorraine (Midsummer Light, June 2016), Come to Poppy (Nice Stems, Summer 2011)

Reykjavik is quite like Zoya’s old Fawne and a lighter version of Mauving to Manitoba. Nothing like this has been made in years.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - OPI Less is Norse (Iceland)

From left to right: Petal Pushers (Flowerista, Spring 2015), Genevieve (Entice, Autumn 2014), Less is Norse, Arielle (New York Never Sleeps, October 2015), Mona (Boudoir, January 2014), Natty (Designer, Autumn 2012), Smoke Gets in Your Eyes (After Midnight, Autumn 2016), Sailor (Cashmeres, Autumn 2013), Queen B (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees (Spain, Autumn 2009), Raven (Extreme, 2004)

Less is Norse is a little more purple than Genevieve and less Arielle. It definitely fills a void in my collection!

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - OPI Aurora Berry-alis (Iceland)

From left to right: Madeline (Naturel Deux, Autumn 2014), Let’s Stay Together (Recipe for Love, Autumn 2014), Pink Chocolate (Core), I Feel Pretty (Nordstrom Exclusive, Holiday 2016), Aurora Berryalis, Kate (Classics), Paige (Uptown, Autumn 2007), Bianca (Provocateur, Summer 2006), Mallory (Into the Sea, July 2016), We the Female (Washington DC, Autumn 2016), Veronica (Entice, Autumn 2014), Apartment for Two (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Holiday 2016)

If you have Zoya’s old Kate you already have Aurora Berryalis. I Feel Pretty and Pink Chocolate are also pretty close.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - OPI Suzi & the Arctic Fox (Iceland)

I still have no idea exactly what color Suzi & the Arctic Fox really is… brown? Gray? Purple? I don’t know. I also can’t get it to show up on camera well.

From left to right: Joanne (Friendsgiving, November 2014), Charmed, I’m Sure (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), A Grape Affair (Coca Cola, Summer 2014), Plum Sugar (Sugar High, Spring 2015), O Suzi Mio (Venice, Autumn 2015), Viking in a Vinter Vonderland (Nordic, Autumn 2014), Kelly (Wonderful, Autumn 2010), Suzi & the Arctic Fox, Mona (Boudoir, January 2014), Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees (Spain, Autumn 2009), Casey (Classics), Vendetta (Spring 2009)

I think if you mixed the gray Mona with the purple Viking you’d get Arctic Fox. This color is so unique!

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - OPI Check Out the Old Geysirs (Iceland)

Also, why didn’t I think to include Pepper in my Saint comparisons?

From left to right: Virgin Snow (Virgin Snow, Holiday 2015), Jessica (Express Yourself, March 2012), Kristen (Feel, Winter 2011), Sea of Love (Message in a Bottle, Spring 2017), Check Out the Old Geysirs, Cinderella (Spring 2012), Rayne (Delight, Spring 2015), One Polished Pony (My Little Pony, Summer 2017), Matilda (Midsummer Light, June 2016), Saint (Enchanted, Holiday 2016), Pepper (Rainbow Bright, May 2016), Jo (Twist, Spring 2009). Swatch Stick: China Glaze Boho Blues (Road Trip, Spring 2015)

Old Geysirs is kind of like Sea of Love with soft blue shimmer, but given that the shimmer doesn’t show up that much in Geysirs they’re close enough you don’t need both.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - OPI That's What Friends Are Thor (Iceland)

I just don’t have a lot of brown crèmes, sorry. There probably is a whole lot more stuff out there that’s a lot closer to Thor that I don’t have.

From left to right: Marnie (Naturel Deux, Autumn 2014), Mary & Gina (Naturel 3, Spring 2017), Mahogany Magic (Colours from the Capitol, Spring 2012), Debbie (Naturel 3, Spring 2017), That’s What Friends are Thor, Emilia (Naturel Deux, Autumn 2014), Desiree (Focus, Autumn 2015), Louise (Cashmeres, Autumn 2013)

Thor is a whole lot cooler than anything else I have here. Emilia comes closest but it’s still way warmer by comparison.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - OPI One Heckla of a Color! (Iceland)

From left to right: Afternoon Delight (Afternoon Delight Sephora Exclusive, Spring 2016), High Society (Rebel Debutante, Spring 2010), Candy Shop (Sugar High, Spring 2015), One Heckla of a Color, Faith (Spring to It, March 2017), Uptown Girl (Rebel Debutante, Spring 2010), Coming Up Roses (Bed of Roses, Spring 2017), Tina (Charming, Spring 2017), London (Afterglow, February 2015)

Candy Shop is a slightly dustier version of Heckla, and Faith is almost dead on were it not for the shimmer. High Society is more beige and Uptown Girl is more pink.
