I’m
going to start off my China Glaze section of my Summer 2017 comparisons with
one polish from both collections! That are… eerily close.
From
left to right: Front Page (Infamous, Holiday 2015), Brooklyn (Awaken, Spring
2014), Rollin’ in Cashmere (Gwen Stefani Holiday, Holiday 2014), Getting Groovy
(Getting Groovy, Holiday 2016), High Standards, Best Ponies Forever, Passion
(Romantiques, Spring 2009), 50 Years of Style (Mustang, Summer 2014), Jingle
Bells (Tis the Season to be Naughty or Nice, Holiday 2010), Austine (Utopia,
Holiday 2007)
Yeah,
High Standards and Best Ponies Forever are really, really close, so is Passion
but that’s a really old one they haven’t made in a good long while so I
wouldn’t fault China Glaze for completely forgetting about it. Passion has more
metallic pigment and is more chrome-y, and is darker though. And to be fair,
High Standards is a little more brushstrokey on the nail, and it’s a little
lighter, but you don’t need them both and you don’t need either if you have
Passion stashed away in your collection. The only other thing in this line
that’s pretty close is 50 Years of Style, which is lighter, warmer, and
brighter but on the same boat. The stuff on the left is lighter and brighter
and Jingle Bells and Austine are too bronzy.
