Holiday 2017 Comparisons - OPI Snow Glad I Met You (Love OPI XOXO) - Part 2

From left to right: Press * For Silver (Starlight, Holiday 2015), It’s Totally Fort Worth It (Texas, Spring 2011), Steph (Drenched, July 2015), Rainbow (China Rain, Summer 2001), Leona (Diamond for April, April 2015), Seraphina (Zenith, Holiday 2013), The Ten Man (Wizard of Ooh Ahz Returns, Winter 2009), It’s A-Boat Time! (Spring Fling, Spring 2017), My Silk Tie (50 Shades of Grey, Spring 2015), Front Page (Infamous, Holiday 2015), Snow Glad I Met You, Celeste (Masquerade), Kathy (Pearl for June, June 2014), Brenda (Naughty or Nice Mystery Box, December 2013), Frosting (Sugar High, Spring 2015)

The stuff on the left is too silver or too pink. Celeste is actually really close, close enough you don’t need both. Front Page is also pretty close. Kathy and Brenda are similar but their finish is sheerer. Frosting is also in the area but instead of being a metallic it’s a crème with gold glitter.

Holiday 2017 Comparisons - OPI Gift of Gold Never Gets Old (Love OPI XOXO) - Part 2

From left to right: Brooklyn (Awaken, Spring 2014), Front Page (Infamous, Holiday 2015), Comet Closer (Starlight, Holiday 2015), Gift of Gold Never Gets Old, Autumn in New York (New York Marquee, Autumn 2014), Getting Groovy (Getting Groovy, Holiday 2016), Cheryl (Very Merry, Holiday 2015), 50 Years of Style (Mustang, Summer 2014), Passion (Romantiques, Spring 2009), Cosmo-Not Tonight Honey! (Russian, Autumn 2007), OPI with a Nice Finnish (Nordic, Autumn 2014)

The closest in color to Gift of Gold is Comet Closer which is a bit cooler and darker but most notably it’s got a lot of gold glitter in it. Closest metallic is Autumn in New York, which is a bit more of a true gold.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Zoya Mckenna (Sophisticates) - Part 2

From left to right: Steph (Drenched, July 2015), Time For Me Time (Resort Spring 2015), Lauren (Classics), Frosting (Sugar High, Spring 2015), Celeste (Classics), Front Page (Infamous, Holiday 2015), McKenna, Kay (Modern Smolder, February 2016), Take a Right on Bourbon (New Orleans, Spring 2016), Voyeuristic Adventure (Secret Society, Holiday 2013), Wilma (Rainbow Bright, May 2016), Fast Track (Hunger Games, Spring 2012), Katrina (Bow on Top, Holiday 2015)

Nothing quite has the same style of shimmer of McKenna. Steph is whiter, Time for Me Time and Lauren are pinker, Frosting and Celeste are yellower, Take a Right on Bourbon and Voyeuristic Adventure are more cool toned, Wilma is more duochromey, and Fast Track and Katrina are too glitzy. The two closest things are Front Page and Kay, the latter of which is close enough you don’t need McKenna. Front Page is a similar color but it’s a full on metallic. Kay is just a little darker and the shimmer is a bit different.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Orly Silken Quartz (Velvet Dream)

From left to right: Monique (Lighten Up, March 2016), Take a Right on Bourbon (New Orleans, Spring 2016), Magical (Romantiques, Spring 2009), Lullaby of Broadway (New York Marquee, Autumn 2014), Kay (Modern Smolder, February 2016), Silken Quartz, Lauren (Classics), Wilma (Rainbow Bright, May 2016), Press * For Silver (Starlight, Holiday 2015), Voyeuristic Adventure (Secret Society, Holiday 2013), Front Page (Infamous, Holiday 2015), Cosmo-Not Tonight Honey! (Russia, Autumn 2007), Seashell (Core)

Silken Quartz is a lot like Zoya’s old Lauren, but Silken Quartz has a much thicker formula. Wilma is a little darker.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze High Standards & Best Ponies Forever (Summer Reign & My Little Pony)

I’m going to start off my China Glaze section of my Summer 2017 comparisons with one polish from both collections! That are… eerily close.

From left to right: Front Page (Infamous, Holiday 2015), Brooklyn (Awaken, Spring 2014), Rollin’ in Cashmere (Gwen Stefani Holiday, Holiday 2014), Getting Groovy (Getting Groovy, Holiday 2016), High Standards, Best Ponies Forever, Passion (Romantiques, Spring 2009), 50 Years of Style (Mustang, Summer 2014), Jingle Bells (Tis the Season to be Naughty or Nice, Holiday 2010), Austine (Utopia, Holiday 2007)

Yeah, High Standards and Best Ponies Forever are really, really close, so is Passion but that’s a really old one they haven’t made in a good long while so I wouldn’t fault China Glaze for completely forgetting about it. Passion has more metallic pigment and is more chrome-y, and is darker though. And to be fair, High Standards is a little more brushstrokey on the nail, and it’s a little lighter, but you don’t need them both and you don’t need either if you have Passion stashed away in your collection. The only other thing in this line that’s pretty close is 50 Years of Style, which is lighter, warmer, and brighter but on the same boat. The stuff on the left is lighter and brighter and Jingle Bells and Austine are too bronzy.

Holiday 2016 Comparisons - Essie Getting Groovy (Getting Groovy)

Unfortunately, the two things I wanted to compare most to Getting Groovy, OPI’s Up Front and Personal and Glitzerland, are both MIA presumed destashed, so if and when I get replacement bottles of those, I’ll be sure to add comparisons.

From left to right: Front Page (Infamous, Holiday 2015), Love.Angel.Music.Baby (Gwen Stefani, Spring 2014), Cheryl (Very Merry, Holiday 2015), Comet Closer (Starlight, Holiday 2015), Leggy Legend (Leggy Legend, Autumn 2015)

Leggy Legend’s not even kind of close but I thought you would like to see them together. Front Page and L.A.M.B. are a similar color but different finishes, Front Page a regular metallic and L.A.M.B. a matte. Cheryl and Sienna though are really close, Cheryl’s a little lighter and Sienna’s a little darker, but if you have one you don’t need the others, I’d go with Getting Groovy. Comet Closer isn’t really close though, it’s cooler toned and has distinctive glitter.
