Summer 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann After the Glow (Sunrise Sunset)

I didn’t get Zoya Liv from last summer but I get the sense they’d be very close!

Shade On is way too blue and Crown Velvet is too dark but I thought you would want to see them. Candy Shop is far too grayed, and London to a lesser extent. Paige has a bit too much red in it to compare but they have a lot of the same undertones. Spontaneous, Gothic Lolita (which also has shimmer), and Tina are a bit too cool to properly compare. Drunk in Love is the closest thing in Lippmann’s line, and it’s pretty close but it has a bit more red to it. I Manicure for Beads is almost a dead-on dupe. If I’m being nitpicky, After the Glow is lighter but you don’t need both.

Window Shopping and Charged Up Cherry are too warm, Whitney and Risky Behavior are too cool, Brynn is too bright and Sherbet Lips has gold shimmer, but everything else is close. Amanda is lighter, Apartment for Two is a little cooler, and Morgan and Make an Entrance are darker and cooler, but you don’t need all of these.

Wow, Dita is way too cool, I forgot why I even thought to compare it to Fire on the Horizon! Otherwise this lot is much more close to Fire on the Horizon. The new Flame-boyant and Revolution are a lot darker. Myriam is close in hue but it’s a jelly finish. Lee is more cool toned and Meghan is darker and more brown toned. Haley and America are both more saturated, and Haley is a jelly. By far the closest thing I have to Fire on the Horizon is Demetria. It’s a touch cooler toned but they’re oh so very close.

This was one giant row of red/corals, but I split it into two down the middle.

This was the orange-y end of the line. The closest stuff to Fire on the Horizon are Fireball, Alexis Ruby Empress, and Tasmanian Devil. Fireball and Alexis Ruby Empress have a lot of shimmer in them, their biggest departure from Fire on the Horizon. Tasmanian Devil though is pretty close. Tasmanian Devil is a lot more vibrant and saturated.

Crawfishin’ is too light and Wendy, Elodie, and Daytripper are too coral. Ultralight Beam is not very coral at all. Toucan and Jenna also have a touch of coral to them, although they’re closer. SPF XXX, Cam, Sunshine State of Mind, and Lara’s Theme are the same hue as Ultralight Beam, although they’re darker. Carolyn and Ultralight Beam though are really rather close. Carolyn is lighter but you don’t need both.

I wanted to show Sun Daze next to a real nude, Prelude to a Kiss, to show Sun Daze is decidedly not a nude. Fresh Prince-ss is lighter and pinker, and everything Fizzy on right and Flip Flops & Crop Tops are too dark. Piper is a more nude toned version of a similar hue to Sun Daze. Alicia is much brighter, and Pink-ing out the Window is darker. There’s a nice little almost-ombre row of Lippmann minis there. Sugar, Sugar looks super washed out in the bottle but is really more of a creamsicle orange than Sun Daze, lacking all of Sun Daze’s pink. A Trail of Petals is more pink and less orange. Groove is in the Heart is a lot darker and a bright pink. The closest thing I have is Who are You Calling a Shrimp. It’s darker but it’s a similar shade, a similar mix of pink and oranger.

My first thought was to compare it to Lemon Drop from last year, but Soak Up the Sun is a lot dustier and more orange toned. Urban Jungle’s too pink toned, Whip it Good is super bright, and Kill ‘Em with Kindness is brighter and squishier. Everything else is fairly close. Vanna is lighter and more nude toned, One Chic Chick is more yellow, and Jacqueline has a subtle shimmer, but they’re all really close.
