Summer 2017 Comparisons - Zoya Sonja (Wanderlust)

From left to right: Eva (Hugs-n-Kisses), Live.Love.Carnaval (Brazil, Spring 2014), Kara (Classics), I Brake for Colour (Road Trip, Spring 2015), Sunset Sneaks (Peach Side Babe, Summer 2015), Some Hearts (Carrie Underwood, Spring 2014), Dixie (Sunsets, Summer 2016), Sonja, Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It (Australia, Spring 2007), Lee (Set Sail, May 2015), America (La-Di-Da, Summer 2009), Haley (Classics)

Same as I said with Éclair My Love, this color isn’t even kind of unique, although it’s very pretty. The stuff on the farthest right is a bit too red to compare, and the stuff on the left is too light or orange or desaturated, but it’s all reasonably close.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - Essie Eclair My Love (S'il Vous Play) - Part 2

Part 2: Other brands:

Stay tuned for a more in-depth comparison for Sonja!

From left to right: Eva (Hugs-n-Kisses), I Brake for Colour (Road Trip, Spring 2015), Dixie (Sunsets, Summer 2016), Some Hearts (Carrie Underwood, Spring 2014), Sonja (Wanderlust, Summer 2017), Éclair My Love, My Chihuahua Bites! (Mexico, Spring 2006), Fire on the Horizon (Sunrise Sunset, Summer 2017), Lee (Set Sail, May 2015), Fran (Bask in the Heat, June 2017), America (La-Di-Da, Summer 2009), Haley (Classics), Coca Cola Red (Coca Cola, Summer 2014)

Fran, America, Haley, and Coca Cola Red are all too dark and too true red. Eva is too dusty, I Brake for Color is a bit too dark and orange toned, and Fire on the Horizon is not quite as saturated. Everything else is super close. There are some subtle differences, but really, if you have Dixie, Some Hearts, Sonja, My Chihuahua Bites, or from the last post Sunset Sneaks you don’t need Éclair My Love.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Fire on the Horizon (Sunrise Sunset) - Part 1

This was one giant row of red/corals, but I split it into two down the middle.

From left to right: Kara (Classics), Sunset Sneaks (Peach Side Babe, Summer 2015), I Brake for Colour (Road Trip, Spring 2015), Some Hearts (Carrie Underwood, Spring 2014), My Chihuahua Bites! (Mexico, Spring 2006), Dixie (Sunsets, Summer 2016), Fireball (Adrenaline Rush, Summer 2015), Alexis Ruby Empress (It’s a Girl Thing, Spring 2013), Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It (Australia, Spring 2007), Fire on the Horizon

This was the orange-y end of the line. The closest stuff to Fire on the Horizon are Fireball, Alexis Ruby Empress, and Tasmanian Devil. Fireball and Alexis Ruby Empress have a lot of shimmer in them, their biggest departure from Fire on the Horizon. Tasmanian Devil though is pretty close. Tasmanian Devil is a lot more vibrant and saturated.

Holiday 2016 Comparisons - OPI Can't Tame a Wild Thing (Breakfast at Tiffany's Infinite Shine)

Now, Can’t Tame a Wild Thing is a jelly, and I really don’t have that many jellies in this color, so I’ve mostly compared this to crèmes in the same color family.

The other jelly:

Left: Can’t Tame a Wild Thing, Right: The Heat is On (Desert Escape, Summer 2015)

These two are weird: in some lights, like the light I took these pictures in, they look completely identical. In others, The Heat is On is distinctly a tomato red while CTaWT is still really orange. I’d say they’re too close you don’t need them both but still not absolute dupes.

The crèmes:

From left to right: Heidi (Gossip, Summer 2008), Color Binge (Leggy Legend, Autumn 2015), Pop the Trunk (Road Trip, Spring 2015), A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find (Hong Kong, Spring 2010), Meet Me at Sunset (Brazilliant, Summer 2011), Race Red, (Mustang, Summer 2014), Happy Wife Happy Life (Bridal 2015), Can’t Tame a Wild Thing, Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It (Australia, Spring 2007), Fifth Avenue (Central Park, Spring 2003), I Brake for Colour (Road Trip, Spring 2015)

Heidi, Color Binge, and I Brake for Colour are way lighter. A Good Man-darin, Pop the Trunk, and Meet Me at Sunset don’t have enough red in them to compare. Race Red though could be the crème version of CTaWT. Happy Wife Happy Life is a smidge darker and dustier. Tasmanian Devil is also close but it’s a little lighter and pinker. Fifth Avenue is also also close but there’s a little less pink.
