Summer 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Sun Daze (Sunrise Sunset)

From left to right: Prelude to a Kiss (Cool Romance, Spring 2012), Fresh Prince-ss (Rebel, Autumn ’16), Piper (Classics), Sugar, Sugar (Sweets for My Sweet, Spring 2016), A Trail of Petals (Bed of Roses, Spring 2017), Sun Daze, Groove is in the Heart (Romantic Rapture, Spring 2013), Alicia (Express Yourself, March 2012), Who Are You Calling a Shrimp? (Core), Sorry I’m Fizzy Today (Coca-Cola, Summer 2014), Laurel (Petals, Spring 2016), Reese (?), Pink-ing of You (Classics), Beauty School Dropout (Happy Days, Summer 2016). Swatch sticks: Top: OPI Flip Flops & Crop Tops (Retro Summer, Summer 2016), Bottom: China Glaze Pinking Out the Window (Road Trip, Spring 2015).

I wanted to show Sun Daze next to a real nude, Prelude to a Kiss, to show Sun Daze is decidedly not a nude. Fresh Prince-ss is lighter and pinker, and everything Fizzy on right and Flip Flops & Crop Tops are too dark. Piper is a more nude toned version of a similar hue to Sun Daze. Alicia is much brighter, and Pink-ing out the Window is darker. There’s a nice little almost-ombre row of Lippmann minis there. Sugar, Sugar looks super washed out in the bottle but is really more of a creamsicle orange than Sun Daze, lacking all of Sun Daze’s pink. A Trail of Petals is more pink and less orange. Groove is in the Heart is a lot darker and a bright pink. The closest thing I have is Who are You Calling a Shrimp. It’s darker but it’s a similar shade, a similar mix of pink and oranger.

Spring 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann A Trail of Petals and Coming Up Roses

From left to right: Fresh Prince-ss (Rebel, Autumn 2016), Phyllis (Chrysalis, January 2015), You’ve Got a Friend (I’ve Gotta Be Me, Holiday 2014), Rue (Naturel, Spring 2014), Jill (Naturel 3, Spring 2017), Avril (Suede, Summer 2004), A Trail of Petals, Piper (Classics), Dress Me Up (Colours from the Capitol/Hunger Games, Spring 2012), Ever After (Her Majesty, Holiday 2016), Coming Up Roses, Zanna (Blissful, Spring 2008), I Feel Pretty (Nordstrom Exclusive, Holiday 2016). Swatch stick: China Glaze My Lodge or Yours (The Great Outdoors, Autumn 2015)

A Trail of Petals is really close to Avril and Piper, it’s a little pinker than Avril and a little lighter than Piper, but they’re all really close. Coming Up Roses isn’t exactly the same as this holiday’s Ever After – it’s more vibrant. Ever After, Coming Up Roses and the new Nordstrom Exclusive I Feel Pretty would make a nice ombre manicure!
