Summer 2017 Comparisons - Essie Blue-La-La (S'il Vous Play)

Note: I have the greener version of Mint Candy Apple, which is definitely different looking. For Audrey is also way darker.

From left to right: Virgin Snow (Virgin Snow, Holiday 2015), Jessica (April 2012), Kristen (Feel, Winter 2011/12), Sea of Love (Message in a Bottle, Spring 2017), My Boy Lollipop (Sweets for My Sweet, Spring 2016), Blue-La-La, Meet Me at the Rink (Poptastic Pastel Neons, Spring 2015), Liesl (Relax & Remix, April 2017), Lillian (Delight, Spring 2015), Suzi without a Paddle (Fiji, Spring 2017), Sailing & Nailing (Retro Summer, Summer 2016), Gelato on My Mind (Venice, Autumn 2015), I Believe in Manicures (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Holiday 2016)

Everything Sea of Love on left is too grayed and everything Liesl on right is too green, but Blue-La-La is pretty close to My Boy Lollipop and Meet Me at the Rink.

Spring 2017 Comparisons - OPI Suzi without a Paddle (Fiji)

From left to right: Mint Candy Apple (Sweet Time of Year, Winter 2009), Lillian (Delight, Spring 2015), My Boy Lollipop (Sweets for My Sweet, Spring 2016), Meet Me at the Rink (Poptastic Pastel Neons, Spring 2015), Liesl (Relax & Remix Collection, April 2017), Udon Know Me (Kimono Over, Autumn 2016), Suzi without a Paddle, Gelato On My Mind (Venice, Autumn 2015), Sailing & Nailing (Retro Summer, Summer 2016), I Believe in Manicures (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Holiday 2016), For Audrey (Something Blue, Autumn 2007),

The flash shot makes these all look pretty identical, but they’re not exactly. Obviously Mint Candy Apple and For Audrey are more green and I Believe in Manicures is bluer. That said, unless you love this shade of blue/green like I do, you don’t need all of these. Suzi w/o a Paddle and Gelato on my Mind are in particular really close, Gelato is a tiny bit greener.

Spring 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Sea of Love (Message in a Bottle)

The stuff on the far right is far too green to compare to Sea of Love, but I thought you would want to see them.

From left to right: Megan, Carey, Kristen (all from Feel, Winter 2011/12), Virgin Snow (Virgin Snow, Holiday 2015), Sea of Love, Jessica (April 2012), Matilda (Midsummer Light, June 2016), Secret Peri-wink-le (Operation: Colour, Autumn 2008), Udon Know Me (Kimono Over, Autumn 2016), My Boy Lollipop, Flowers in Her Hair (Spring Reveries, Spring 2014), For Audrey (Something Blue, Autumn 2007), Splish Splash (Happy Days, Summer 2016). Swatch Stick: China Glaze Boho Blues (Road Trip, Spring 2015)

Nothing I have here is an exact dupe to Sea of Love. Virgin Snow, Kristen, and Jessica, while in the same family, are lighter, and Matilda, Boho Blues, and Secret Peri-wink-le are darker. Sea of Love is also one of the grayest of the lot, barring the distinctly gray Carey. Kristen is the closest, but they’re not the same.

Holiday 2016 Comparisons - OPI I Believe in Manciures (Breakfast at Tiffany's)

From left to right: My Boy Lollipop (Sweets for my Sweet, Spring 2016), Meet Me at the Rink (Poptastic Pastel Neons, Spring 2015), Sailing & Nailing (Retro Summer, Summer 2016), I Believe in Manicures, Lillian (Delight, Spring 2015), Gelato on My Mind (Venice, Autumn 2015), Udon Know Me (Kimono Over, Autumn 2016), For Audrey (Something Blue, Autumn 2007)

For Audrey, the classic Tiffany blue nail polish, has a lot more green in it, and I’d say it’s closer to a true Tiffany blue (Tiffany and Co. has the exact shade trademarked). Anyway, My Boy Lollipop and Meet Me at the Rink are lighter and Lillian, Gelato, and Udon are also greener. In fact, I Believe in Manicures is probably the least green shade in the lot. Sailing & Nailing though is eerily close for a polish only about 6 months older than I Believe in Manicures. It’s lighter and again, greener, but they’re too close to really need both.
