Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Black Magic Woman (Star Power)

From left to right: Storm (Ornate, Holiday 2012), My Private Jet (Originally Night Brights, Summer 2007, Brown version), Black Magic Woman, Ebony (Dark and Stormy Nights, October 2016), Celine (Celestial Cheer, Holiday 2016), Kristjana (This Way to the Soiree, December 2016), Payton (Zenith, Holiday 2013)

I immediately thought of Ebony when I saw Black Magic Woman, and I’m not far off, Ebony’s darker though and the holo is stronger. The version of My Private Jet I have is also pretty close but the base is more brown.

Update with Julep Brandy:

I just got Brandy the other day and it’s really close to Black Magic Woman. The big difference is Brandy has some blue-green glitter in it as well as the holo, but otherwise they’re almost dead-on. The base color is super close.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Purple Haze (Star Power)

From left to right: All Aboard (All Aboard, Autumn 2014), Grape Pop (Up & Away, Spring 2010), Plum Sugar (Sugar High, Spring 2015), Katya (Dark and Stormy Nights, October 2016), Monica (Designer, Autumn 2012), Charmed, I’m Sure (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), Purple Haze, A Grape Affair (Coca Cola, Summer 2014), Lidia (Focus, Autumn 2015), Queen B (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), Crown Velvet (Her Majesty, Holiday 2016), Karina (Neon Nights, July 2017)

Purple Haze is close enough to Plum Sugar, Katya, Monica, Charmed I’m Sure, and A Grape Affair that you wouldn’t need to pick it up. All Aboard and Grape Pop are too light, Lidia’s too red, and Queen B, Crown Velvet, and Karina are too blue.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Venus in Furs (Star Power)

From left to right: Vanessa (Dare, Autumn 2009), Traffic Jam (Metro, Autumn 2011), Sofia (Provocateur, Summer 2006), Stacy (Wonderful, Autumn 2010), Courtney (Urban Grunge, Autumn 2016), Venus in Furs, Hayley (Modern Smolder, February 2016), Jean (Dark and Stormy Nights, October 2016), Cassandra (Kisses, London, September 2015), In the Lobby (Leggy Legend, Autumn 2015), Tara (Urban Grunge, Autumn 2016), Ravishing, Dahling (Visions of Grandeur, Autumn 2005), Carry On (Autumn 2011)

Vanessa, Traffic Jam, and Sofia are lighter, Tara kind of falls between Venus in Furs and Purple Haze, and Ravishing Dahling and Carry On are darker, but everything else is almost dead on. Unless you need a gel lab pro berry, Venus in Furs isn’t a must have.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Wow (Star Power)

From left to right: Gossip Over Gimlets (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), It’s Totally Forth Worth It (Texas, Spring 2011), Bad Moon Rising (Big Bang, Holiday 2013), Chroma Cool (Summer Reign, Summer 2017), Wow, Roselyn (This Way to the Soiree, December 2016), Dorothy (Luminous Lights, Holiday 2016), Fashion Faceoff (Gala Bolds, Summer 2017), Silver Canvas (Color Paints, Summer 2015)

I don’t have anything exactly like Wow – it’s a bit lighter and warmer than Chroma Cool, not as flecky as Roselyn, and way warmer than Dorothy and Fashion Faceoff.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Waking Up in Vegas (Star Power)

From left to right: King of the Road (Her Majesty, Holiday 2016), Desert Moon (Painted Desert, Summer 2015), I Cannoli Wear OPI (Venice, Autumn 2015), Shari (Friendsgiving, November 2014), Leah (Naturel Satins, Spring 2015), Gracie (QVC Spring Neutrals, Spring 2016), Carey (Feel, Winter 2011), Linda (New York Never Sleeps, October 2015), Waking Up in Vegas, Misty (Whispers, Spring 2016), Berlin There Done That (Germany, Autumn 2012). Swatch Stick: China Glaze Change Your Altitude (The Great Outdoors, Autumn 2015)

Now, this color’s not my usual color, so there’s probably more out there that’s close to Waking Up In Vegas, but the only things I have that are kind of close are Misty (which is sheer), Change Your Altitude (which is less green), Linda & Carey (which are also less green), and Leah & Gracie (which are more purple and Leah’s a matte).

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Crimson and Clover (Lady in Red)

My bottle of Stay the Night is starting to fade a little, the little glitters were originally a lot redder. Also, Red Velvet’s red glitter isn’t coming out to play. Sorry. Also, I don’t have OPI Today I Accomplished Zero but I think that’s another comparable polish.

From left to right: Meet Me Under the Stars (Twinkle, Holiday 2014), Queen of the Night (Her Majesty, Holiday 2016), Red Velvet (Untamed Luxury, Autumn 2010), Lubu Heels (The Perfect Pair, Autumn 2007), Rosie (Modern Smolder, February 2016), Crimson and Clover, Ruby Red Slippers (Holiday 2009), Stay the Night (Mariah Carey, Spring 2013)

Crimson and Clover is reminiscent of the classic Ruby Red Slippers, but the glitter is larger, more of a true red (Crimson and Clover’s a bit pinker). Rosie is by far Crimson and Clover’s closest relative, actually it’s almost dead-on.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Deborah Lippmann Red Red Wine (Lady in Red)

From left to right: Sofia (Provocateur, Summer 2006), Merry Berry (Holiday Joy, Holiday 2012), Red Blooded Woman (Lady in Red), Claire (Entice, Autumn 2014), Hayley (Modern Smolder, February 2016), Charmed I’m Sure (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), Red, Red Wine, Monica (Designer, Autumn 2012), Carry On (Autumn 2011), Anja (Smoke, Autumn 2011), Material Girl (Autumn 2007), Casey (Classics). Swatch Stick: China Glaze Free Bear Hugs (The Great Outdoors, Autumn 2015)

Dark reds and plums!
