Holiday 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Queen of Sequins (The Glam Finale) - Part 1

From left to right: Dora (Stroke of Midnight Mystery Box, December 2016), Opening Night (A Night at the Opera, Autumn 2013), India (Ignite, Autumn 2014), Roxy (Masquerade), You’re So Vain (Seven Deadly Sins, Autumn 2014), Queen of Sequins, Bad Romance (Autumn 2010), Glamcore (Street Regal, Autumn 2017), Rendezvous with You (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013), Delia (Diamonds Forever Mystery Box, November 2016), Songbird Serenade (My Little Pony, Summer 2017)

Queen of Sequins seems to be taking some cues from Roxy (which is lighter and the glitter is chunkier), You’re So Vain (a texture and a little cooler in tone but otherwise similar), and Bad Romance (way chunkier but a similar color scheme). It’s also a glitzier version of Glamcore from the fall.

Holiday 2017 Comparisons - Zoya Blake (Party Girls) - Part 1

From left to right: Venus Was Her Name, Paula (Countdown, December 2014), Turn on the Northern Lights (Iceland, Autumn 2017), Dressed to the Nineties (As If, Autumn 2017), Blake, Delia (Diamonds Forever, November 2016), Songbird Serenade (My Little Pony, Summer 2017), Darcy (Future Fresh, January 2017), Groove Thang (Dance to the Musique, Autumn 2008), Prima Donna (A Night at the Opera, Autumn 2013), Under the Stars (Coastal Crush, Summer 2017), Scandalous Shenanigans (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013)

I did an extra close up shot of Blake and Delia to show that they are actually rather close. Their shimmer isn’t exactly the same but they’re definitely the same idea and mostly the same execution too. Dressed to the Nineties is different but it’s something fans of Blake would enjoy. Songbird Serenade has a vastly different shimmer and a black base instead of a blue one but again, similar.

Holiday 2017 Comparisons - OPI Top the Package with a Beau (Love OPI XOXO) - Part 1

From left to right: Life’s Grimm (Happily Never After, Autumn 2017), Chain Reaction (Rock This Town, Holiday 2012), Fawn (Moonlit Magic, Holiday 2016), Top the Package with a Beau, With Abandon (Wild at Heart, Autumn 2009), Candace (Cityscape, September 2013), Songbird Serenade (My Little Pony, Summer 2017), Rendezvous with You (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013)

Nothing here is quite as cool toned as Top the Package with a Beau. Life’s Grimm and Chain Reaction are more green, Fawn is too chunky glitter, With Abandon and Candace are close but warmer, Songbird Serenade is too pink and Rendezvous with you is too purple.

Holiday 2017 Comparisons - OPI Coalmates (Love OPI XOXO) - Part 1

From left to right: Moon Dance (Rock This Town, Holiday 2012), Songbird Serenade (My Little Pony, Summer 2017), Life’s Grimm (Happily Never After, Autumn 2017), Black Magic Woman (Star Power Sephora Exclusive, Autumn 2017), Brandy (Night Lights Mystery Box, October 2015), Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous (Swiss, Autumn 2010), Coalmates, After Hours (Dance to the Musique, Autumn 2008), Show Time (In True Fashion, Autumn 2012), Nancy (Black Magic, October 2014), Totally in the Dark (Spring 2013), Trixy, Dot, Ariel, & Marlise (all from Trancing in the Moonlight, October 2017)

Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous is a close cousin to Coalmates if it didn’t have the holo. Brandy and Black Magic Woman are the closest holos but they’re distinctly grayer.

Autumn 2017 Comparisons - Essie Dressed to the Nineties (As If) - Part 1

From left to right: Dora (Stroke of Midnight Mystery Box, December 2016), Paula (Countdown, December 2014), Prima Donna (A Night at the Opera, Autumn 2013), Dressed to the Nineties, Turn on the Northern Lights (Iceland, Autumn 2017), Groove Thang (Dance to the Musique, Autumn 2008), Songbird Serenade (My Little Pony, Summer 2017), Totally in the Dark (Spring 2013)

Nothing else has Dressed to the Nineties’ green shimmer. Turn on the Northern Lights was probably released to compete with Dressed to the Nineties, but it’s way different. Nothing else is even kind of close.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - China Glaze Songbird Serenade (My Little Pony)

From left to right: High on Hope (Hope & Freedom Fest, Spring 2013), Sleeping Under the Stars (The Great Outdoors, Autumn 2015), Totally in the Dark (Spring 2013), Frock ‘n’ Roll (Leggy Legend, Autumn 2015), Songbird Serenade, Haute Tub (Virgin Snow, Holiday 2015), Rich & Brazilian (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Holiday 2016), Smile for the Glamera (Kardashian CVS Exclusive, Autumn 2013), All Night Long (After Midnight Sephora Exclusive, Autumn 2016), Michaela (New York Never Sleeps, October 2015), Yuna (Ignite, Autumn 2014)

I thought High on Hope was basically a blue version of Songbird Serenade, and it is, but High on Hope is distinctly blue even in indirect light. Same goes for Sleeping Under the Stars. The stuff Glamera on right all have different colors of shimmer. Totally in the dark is too true black and has silver shimmer and not red/gold/blue. Frock ‘n’ Roll is a similar not-quite-black color but the shimmer is silver. Rich & Brazilian has a similar shimmer (although it’s more red and less gold) but the base color is different. If you have Haute Tub though, you don’t need Songbird Serenade, the base colors are dead on and the shimmer, while not identical, is rather close.
