Summer 2017 - OPI Don't Take Yosemite For Granite (California Dreaming)

From left to right: Take the “A” Train (New York Marquee, Autumn 2014), Rachael (Kisses, London, September 2015), On the Wild Side (Wild at Heart, Autumn 2009), Bad Moon Rising (Big Bang, Holiday 2013), Hook and Line (Colours from the Capitol/Hunger Games, Spring 2012), Chrome is Where the Heart Is (House of Colour, Spring 2016), Don’t Take Yosemite for Granite, Jungle Queen (On Safari, Autumn 2012), No Peeking! (Twinkle, Holiday 2014)

Yosemite is the only polish in California Dreaming I don’t have anything exactly like. Its closest relative in style is Jungle Queen but Jungle Queen’s not a true metallic. It’s a cross between Jungle Queen and Chrome is Where the Heart Is.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - OPI Sweet Carmel Sunday (California Dreaming)

From left to right: Magical (Romantique, Spring 2009), Chantilly Peach (Core), Austine (Utopia, Holiday 2007), Sweet Carmel Sunday, Cinnamon (Flair, Autumn 2015), Far Out (Retro Diva, Autumn 2009), Brisbane Bronze (Australia, Spring 2007), Penny (Truth, Autumn 2009), Mercedes (Classics), Leggy Legend (Leggy Legend, Autumn 2015), Goin’ My Way? (Vintage Vixen, Autumn 2010)

I don’t have anything quite like Sweet Carmel Sunday, I’d say it’s like a cross between Austine and Cinnamon.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - OPI Malibu Pier Pressure (California Dreaming)

From left to right: Jordan (Charming, Spring 2017), Belle of a Baller (Pastels, Spring 2017), Delhi Dance (Going Guru, Resort/Spring 2016), Castaway (Summertime, Summer 2004), Reese, Groove is in the Heart (Romantic Rapture, Spring 2013), Malibu Pier Pressure, Kiss Me I’m Brazilian (Brazil, Spring 2014), Eden (Delight, Spring 2015), Winnie (Wanderlust, Summer 2017), Jolene (Flash, Summer 2010), Status Symbol (Spring 2009). Swatch Sticks: Top: China Glaze Don’t Mesa with my Heart (Desert Escape, Summer 2015), OPI Flip Flops & Crop Tops (Retro Summer, Summer 2016)

Malibu Pier Pressure is not unique, like, at all. Except for Jordan, Status Symbol, and Don’t Mesa with my Heart, everything’s pretty close.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - OPI Santa Monica Beach Peach (California Dreaming)

From left to right: Carolyn (Set Sail, May 2015), Toucan Do It If You Try (Brazil, Spring 2014), Jenna (Paradise, April 2015), Ultralight Beam (Sunrise Sunset, Summer 2016), Cora (Wanderlust, Summer 2017), Cam (Sunsets, Summer 2016), Santa Monica Beach Peach, Lara’s Theme (Summer 2011), Sunshine State of Mind (Lounge Lover, Spring 2016), Elodie & Heidi (both from Gossip, Summer 2008), California Coral (Core). Swatch Stick: OPI SPF XXX (Retro Summer, Summer 2016)

Of all of SMBP’s close cousins, the closest is definitely Lara’s Theme, which is almost dead-on. Honestly anything in this row is close enough to SMBP though.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - OPI To the Mouse House We Go! (California Dreaming)

From left to right: Haley (Classics), Poppy (Drenched, July 2015), Ari (Shine On, April 2016), To the Mouse House We Go!, The Heat is On (Desert Escape, Summer 2015), Coca Cola Red (Coca Cola, Summer 2014), Fran (Bask in the Heat, June 2017), Lollipop (Sweet Time of Year, Winter 2009), Poinsettia (Let it Snow, Holiday 2011), Hannah (Focus, Autumn 2015), Carmen (Classics), Diana (Classics)

Mouse House’s closest cousins in jelly-hood are Ari and The Heat is On, but the former is cooler and lighter and the latter is warmer.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - OPI GPS I Love You & This is Not Whine Country (California Dreaming)

From left to right: Gigi (Shine On, April 2016), Can’t Tame a Wild Thing (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Holiday 2016), Poppy (Drenched, July 2015), Myriam (Riviera, March 2014), Some Hearts (Carrie Underwood, Spring 2014), Spoken from the Heart (Hello Kitty, Spring 2016), GPS I Love You, Bijou (Glitterati, Summer 2006), Do You Think I’m Tex-y? (Texas, Spring 2011), This is Not Whine Country, Ari (Shine On, April 2016)

Spoken from the Heart is rather close to GPS I Love You, it’s just a little lighter and less blue. This is Not Whine Country is almost dead on with Do You Think I’m Texy, if you missed out on that one Whine Country is a good substitute.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - OPI Barking up the Wrong Sequoia (California Dreaming)

From left to right: Tiramisu for Two (Venice, Autumn 2015), Sugar, Sugar (Sweets for My Sweet, Spring 2016), Prelude to a Kiss (Cool Romance, Spring 2012), Phyllis (Chrysalis, January 2015), Nayley (Pop, March 2015), Alicia (Express Yourself, March 2012), Suzi Sells Sushi by the Seashore (Japan, Spring 2005). Barking Up the Wrong Sequoia, Sun Daze (Sunrise Sunset, Summer 2017), Who Are You Calling a Shrimp?, Willow (Re-Cher-Che, Spring 2006), Sorry I’m Fizzy Today (Coca Cola, Summer 2014), Reese.
The only stuff I have that’s pretty close to Barking up the Wrong Sequoia is Sun Daze (which is lighter) and Who are You Calling a Shrimp (which is darker.)
