Julep Lineup - Judy, Juniper, Jyliana, Karina

  • Judy (Boho Glam - All Night Long, December 2015) is a fabulous polish. They call it a “moonbeam metallic” and that’s just a perfect description. It’s a champagne fine glitter that dries down smooth but sparkly. This is one of few Juleps I have two of and I love every drop!
  • Juniper (Boho Glam - Luminous Lights, Holiday 2016) is a blue metallic. It’s lighter and more silvery than Eunice. This is nice.
  • Jyliana (It Girl - Spring to It, March 2017) is a really unique sage green creme. Great formula too!
  • Karina (Bombshell - Neon Nights, July 2017) is a bright purple creme. Not a neon as the collection name would have you believe but it is very summery and has a better formula than most neons!

Summer 2017 Comparisons - Orly Under the Stars (Coastal Crush)

From left to right: Frostbite (Ski, Holiday 2007), Bell Bottom Blues (Leggy Legend, Autumn 2015), Aruba Blue (?), Miss Piggy’s Big Number (Muppets Most Wanted, Spring 2014), Under the Stars, Sanaa (Sapphire for September, September 2015), Juniper (Luminous Lights, Holiday 2016), Estelle (Flair, Autumn 2015), Eunice (Into the Sea, July 2016), Little Drummer Boy (Tis the Season to be Naughty and Nice, Holiday 2010), Light My Sapphire (Night Brights, Summer 2007)

Frostbite is too light and cobalt, Bell Bottom Blues is too teal, and Little Drummer Boy are too dark, but everything else is at least kinda close, but except for Sanaa, they all lack the little bit of pink shimmer in Under the Stars. Aruba Blue is similar from a distance, but the formula is thinner and it has no pink in it. Miss Piggy is also lighter and it’s more purple than it is pink in its shimmer. Juniper, Estelle, and Eunice are more true blues like Aruba Blue. Sanaa is the only other blue I have with pink shimmer in it but it’s too light to be a dupe. I think if you mixed Eunice and Sanaa you’d have something like Under the Stars.

Summer 2017 Comparisons - Essie Front Page Worthy (Gel Couture Gala Bolds)

I just can’t get good bottle swatches of dark blue metallics, I’m sorry.

From left to right: Juniper (Luminous Lights, Holiday 2016), Eunice (Into the Sea, July 2016), Estelle (Flair, Autumn 2015), Aruba Blue, Front Page Worthy, Miss Piggy’s Big Number (Muppets World Tour, Spring 2014), Under the Stars (Coastal Crush, Summer 2017), Scandalous Shenanigans (Autumn Nights, Autumn 2013)

Juniper, Eunice, Estelle, and Aruba Blue are much brighter, Scandalous Shenanigans is much darker, and Under the Stars has pink shimmer in it, but Front Page Worthy and Miss Piggy’s Big Number are super-duper close. If I was being nitpicky I’d say Front Page Worthy is a bit more purple toned but yeah.
